Senior Social Worker – Child in Need Team – Birmingham Children’s Trust

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Child in Need Team within the East ASTI Service. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and safety of children across Birmingham in a hybrid working environment with supportive team structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of children with Child in Need plans.
• Undertake assessments, develop plans, and deliver interventions to meet the needs of children and families.
• Complete reports for private law proceedings, including Child Impact Reports, where required.
• Engage with children, families, and partner agencies to ensure effective care planning and risk management.
• Attend monthly team meetings and group supervision sessions as part of a supportive team culture.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience.
• Strong understanding of Child in Need processes and private law proceedings.
• Excellent assessment, planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a hybrid model (office and remote).

Additional Information:

• Hybrid working: 2 days office-based per week at Lifford House.
• Full-time: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 17:15).
• Inside IR35.
