Job Description
Social Worker – LLS Review Team (Countywide) – West Sussex County Council
West Sussex County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Countywide LLS Review Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across multiple sites in West Sussex and deliver strengths-based reviews for adults with a range of care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete strengths-based reviews for adults aged 18+ with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, neurodiverse conditions, acquired brain injuries, chronic health conditions, and older people.
- Undertake Mental Capacity Act (MCA) assessments and complete Continuing Healthcare (CHC) checklists and Decision Support Tools (DST).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review and revise support plans, promoting wellbeing and independence.
- Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and MCA 2005, to all casework.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred social work interventions across the Countywide area.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience in adult social care.
- Skilled in strengths-based practice, assessments, and multi-agency working.
- Strong understanding of MCA, CHC processes, and safeguarding frameworks.
Additional Information:
- Base locations: County Hall North Horsham, County Hall Chichester, and Bridge House Worthing.
- Hybrid working model with 1 office-based day per week (where feasible).
- Full-time: 37 hours per week.
- Inside IR35.
- Pay options:
• Up to £38.00 per hour for qualified candidates (2+ years post-qualified).
• £35.00 per hour + £150 per week expenses for candidates living outside West Sussex (subject to confirmation).
• Rates may vary based on skills/competency as assessed at interview.
