Job Description
Advanced Social Worker – Permanence Team – Liverpool City Council
Liverpool City Council is recruiting experienced Advanced Social Workers to join its Permanence Team, supporting children in care and children looked after. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a committed team focused on achieving long-term stability and positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex cases for children in care, focusing on care and placement planning to ensure stability and improved long-term outcomes.
- Engage directly with children and young people, building strong relationships to support their wellbeing and development.
- Work collaboratively with carers, families, and partner agencies to minimise risks and secure appropriate placements.
- Ensure that all statutory responsibilities are met in line with Children’s Services frameworks and best practice.
- Support the delivery of Liverpool’s ambitious improvement plans and contribute to service-wide development.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s services, ideally within Children Looked After or Permanence Teams.
- Excellent direct work skills with children and young people.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice in permanency planning.
- Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle.
