Job Description
Advanced Social Worker – Family Safeguarding – Liverpool City Council
Liverpool City Council is recruiting experienced Advanced Social Workers to join its Safeguarding teams within the Children & Young People Services division. With a focus on delivering the best outcomes for children and families across Liverpool, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service committed to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex safeguarding cases, including those requiring child protection interventions and court proceedings.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners to ensure safety and positive outcomes.
- Engage in strengths-based practice supported by family support workers and Early Help services.
- Contribute to reflective supervision, team learning, and practice development alongside a stable management team.
- Deliver high-quality assessments, care planning, and reports to meet statutory and service standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience (must have completed ASYE).
- Strong background in safeguarding and statutory children’s social work.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- Excellent risk assessment, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.

Additional Information:
- Location: Edge Hill CFC, Liverpool (L7 1PH) with hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week office-based).
- Full-time: 35 hours per week.
- Inside IR35.
