Social Worker – Disabled Children Service – Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Disabled Children Service on a temporary basis to cover long-term sickness. This non-case holding role focuses on delivering high-quality eligibility assessments and support planning for children with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete eligibility assessments for children with disabilities.
• Identify how the child’s disability impacts their daily living and support needs.
• Develop Care and Support Plans tailored to the needs of the child and family.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies.
• Ensure all interventions are compliant with legislation and best practice within children’s social care.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with valid registration.
• Proven experience working with children with disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of assessment frameworks and statutory duties within children’s services.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Additional Information:

• Non-case holding role focusing purely on assessments.
• Full-time: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 17:00).
• Based at Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.
