Qualified Social Worker – Front Door Team – Knowsley Borough Council

Knowsley Borough Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their fast-paced Front Door Team at the Halewood Centre. This is a crucial role delivering short-term interventions to assess and support service users, working alongside multi-agency partners to prevent unnecessary long-term dependency on services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake initial assessments including Safeguarding Adults Enquiries, Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA), and Risk Assessments.
• Carry out Social Care Needs Assessments (SCNA) and create outcome-focused support plans.
• Provide short-term, strengths-based interventions to enable service users to maximise independence.
• Work in collaboration with Rapid Response and other health and social care partners to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
• Record and maintain accurate case notes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Knowsley Borough Council’s practice standards.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
• Previous experience working in fast-paced, front-line adult social care settings.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, MCA, SCNA, and risk assessment frameworks.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and multi-agency working skills.
• Hybrid working model flexibility (minimum 2 office-based days per week).

Additional Information:

• Office base: Halewood Centre, Halewood (L26 9UH).
• Full-time: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00).
• Inside IR35.
