Senior Practitioner – Fostering Recruitment & Assessment – Birmingham Children’s Trust
Birmingham Children’s Trust is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team within the Commissioning & Corporate Parenting division. This role is essential to supporting the recruitment and assessment of foster carers, working collaboratively to enhance placement stability and meet the service’s Ofsted improvement plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the recruitment of foster carers by responding to enquiries and overseeing the initial engagement process.
- Supervise enquiry officers, ensuring timely and effective handling of potential foster carer enquiries.
- Work closely with Marketing and Assessment colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of the fostering recruitment strategy.
- Co-work with team members to recruit and train prospective foster carers, ensuring high-quality assessment standards are met.
- Engage in reflective supervision and support the wider fostering team to achieve positive placement outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
- Experience in fostering, recruitment, or children’s services.
- Strong supervisory skills and ability to oversee and guide enquiry officers.
- Excellent communication, engagement, and assessment skills.
- Understanding of fostering regulations and recruitment best practices.
Additional Information:
- Based at One Avenue, Birmingham.
- Full-time: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 17:15).
- Inside IR35.
