Job Description
Social Worker (Adults) – Assessment & Safeguarding Team – London Borough of Haringey
The London Borough of Haringey is seeking experienced Social Workers to join its Adults Assessment & Safeguarding Team. This frontline role focuses on providing holistic and strengths-based assessments, safeguarding interventions, and care planning for vulnerable adults across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake Care Act Assessments and Reviews to promote independence, wellbeing, and preventative approaches.
- Carry out Mental Capacity Assessments and make Best Interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
- Manage safeguarding concerns and complete enquiries, applying Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and partner agencies to deliver effective care planning and positive outcomes.
- Lead on ensuring value for money in care packages and contribute to commissioning processes.
- Ensure all assessments, reviews, and reports are compliant with Care Act 2014 and local safeguarding procedures.
- Contribute to Continuing Health Care (CHC) processes, including completion of DSTs in partnership with health colleagues.
- Work proactively to meet service performance targets and contribute to ongoing service improvement.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience in adult social care.
- Excellent knowledge of the Care Act 2014, MCA 2005, safeguarding processes, and CHC frameworks.
- Strong assessment, risk management, and multi-agency working skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information:
- Location: 48 Station Road, London Borough of Haringey.
- Full-time: 36 hours per week.
- Hybrid working model with office and community-based responsibilities.
- Inside IR35.
