Social Worker – Children’s Support and Protection Team – Isle of Wight Council
£40.53 per hour Umbrella | Inside IR35

Isle of Wight Council is seeking passionate and skilled Social Workers to join our dedicated Children’s Support and Protection Team. We offer a warm, welcoming work environment with a strong team ethos and excellent support, where agency workers are highly valued.

About the role:
As a Social Worker, you will provide a high-quality and effective service to safeguard children and promote their wellbeing. You will carry out focused and purposeful interventions, working closely with children, young people, families, and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver timely and effective social work interventions within statutory guidelines
• Complete clear and accurate assessments of children, families, and carers
• Develop outcome-focused plans to reduce risk and improve long-term wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure coordinated support
• Participate in safeguarding processes and manage risk in complex situations
• Provide assessments of prospective carers where required

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience within children’s services
• Strong assessment, report writing, and risk management skills
• Access to your own car to travel across the island Monday to Friday
