Job Description

Social Worker – Referral and Assessment Team – Achieving for Children (Kingston & Richmond)

Achieving for Children is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join its dynamic Referral and Assessment Team. Based across Kingston & Richmond, this frontline safeguarding role focuses on undertaking high-quality assessments, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children from the point of referral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseloads including Section 17 and Section 47 assessments following new referrals into children’s services.
  • Undertake initial assessments and work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to identify needs and safeguard children.
  • Contribute to Child Protection Conferences, strategy discussions, and court proceedings where required.
  • Deliver timely, proportionate interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate case records and participate in reflective supervision within a supportive team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
  • Substantial experience in Referral and Assessment or frontline safeguarding teams.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and statutory children’s services.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and multi-agency partnership skills.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Guildhall Complex, Kingston & Richmond (hybrid working available).
  • Full-time: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00).
  • Inside IR35.
